BROADBAND PROJECTS

Red Oak Technologies Inc has been providing technology and strategy consulting services to municipalities, provinces and public sector organizations in Canada partnering in their mission to enable and enhance broadband connectivity across the nation. The team has been providing such services since 2014. Some of the key areas we have assisted the public sector in this mission are:

  1. Evaluation of existing broadband landscape including consultation with ISPs resulting in a detailed mapping of existing connectivity (supply) in the region of interest.

  2. Developing standards for broadband connectivity based on stakeholder engagement and market research.

  3. Based on broadband connectivity definitions, develop a detailed model and view of the demand in the region of interest. Using market research, develop a model for future (5 or 10 years) broadband demand.

  4. Propose broadband enablement and enhancement strategy based on the gaps resulting from supply and demand of connectivity in the region. This would be a comprehensive strategy that includes network design, cost of ownership and operating network assets, financial modeling, and evaluation of various ownership models.

  5. As part of the proposal, identify strategic, financial, operational and technological risks with each of the proposed approaches.
